About the Author
LINDA SELIGMAN was a professor emerita of counseling and development at George Mason University. She authored fifteen books and was named Counselor Educator of the Year and Researcher of the Year by the American Mental Health Counselors Association. She died in 2007.
LOURIE W. REICHENBERG is a licensed professional counselor in private practice in Falls Church, Virginia, where she also provides clinical supervision. She is currently at work on her fourth book.

I chose the rating I did because I am making preparations to take the NMHCE mental health counseling exam. This work addresses the assessment tools that work the best with each diagnosis. I have found that invaluable information in my preparation.

very helpful, BUT, this is only the DSM5 update

Very readable overview of major changes in DSM5. The clear and concise explanations and rationales make the changes easy to understand and remember. You will still need to consult other sources for coding and detailed diagnostic criteria, but this chapter is an excellent place to start. The icon/title of this e-chapter is misleading, as this is only the DSM update and not a chapter on selecting effective treatments. As long as you understand that, you will be pleased with this chapter.
