All Jews Should Live In The Promised Land

I found this book tremendously important because I felt that the writer correctly understood G-d's Covenant with Israel. G-d's promise to Israel was that Israel would be the chosen race -- however, the condition was that Jews must circumcise and live in Israel, the land promised to Abraham. As an orthodox Jew who takes G-d's covenant seriously, I cannot but applaud Heerak Christian Kim's excellent book, particularly the first chapter. We orthodox Jews believe that the Holocaust happened because Jews refused to go and live in Israel after Jews had the chance to return and live in Israel. G-d blessed us by allowing the exiles to return to the promised land and how do we respond -- we spit in the face of G-d by remaining in Galut, in exile. The Holocaust shows that G-d is alive and takes the covenant seriously. We as the people of G-d must return to Israel, the promised land, or it is right that God punish us for breaking the covenant. I hope that my fellow Jewish brothers will return to Ha-Aretz, the promised land.

Impressive!

This is a very impressive book! I am a student of Jewish studies, particularly focusing on Rabbinic materials. I found this book invaluable. It outlined the most relevant approaches today and directed me toward a method that is academically viable and interesting. I am interested in getting to the historical center of the Rabbinic experience and methodologies in this book allow me to reach my goal. Thanks to Kim!

Impressive!

This is one impressive book on Jewish Studies. I can see the imprint of all the years of scholarship. Professor Kim may have learned from the best minds of the world, but he is not their student. I have read books by experts in places where he has studied, and Professor Kim is head and shoulders above his teachers. His writing is the proof!
