NOT ILLUTRATED

As stated by another reviewer, there are no illustrations in the kindle edition. Full text is available for free in multiple other sources. Total bait and switch. Should have looked more careful at reviews before purchasing.

One of the Only Books to Make Me Laugh Out Loud

As a child, I really wasn't much of a reader. This was one of the first books that captured my imagination, so much so that I've read it several times over the past 40 years. One of the chapters made me laugh out loud while reading, something I virtually never do.
This book is typically overshadowed by the Pooh stories but Grahame does just as good a job of "humanizing" his animal protagonists as Milne ever did. Modest Mole, worldly Rat, wise Badger and egotistical (and a bit crazy) Toad are characters that stick with you.
I bought this for my Kindle not so much to read it again but because I just wanted it to be a permanent part of my digital book collection just as the hardcover will always be in my library.

An old favourite.

a very old favourite which is why I wanted to add it to my Kindle reading. The characters never lose their charm. When my husband and I were cruising on a narrowboat on the Oxfor Canal, the approach to Oxford city had me imagining Ratty and Mole and friends along the riverbank beneath the hanging willows. Lovely!
